Bio Sketch
Dr. Faghri is a professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences as well as Biomedical Engineering Program, School of Engineering, and Department of Community Medicine and Health Care, School of Medicine, University of Connecticut. Dr. Faghri's areas of research interest are: design, intervention and evaluation of work-site health promotion programs, health behavior, intervention strategies, health promotion and secondary disability prevention (neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and psychological) in disabled and elderly populations, evaluation of social determinants of health, self-care, self awareness and decision making strategies under uncertain or distributed environments.
She directs Connecticut's State employee WHP program, the "Connectifit," as well as "Cooptimal," a worksite health promotion program for small to mid-sized companies. She also was co-investigator in health promotion studies at the State's largest private sector employer.
