Bio Sketch

Sandra M. García Mangado, BA in Psychology and Sociology, and a Masters degree in Community Social Psychology, has worked for the CFWC for more than four years.  Currently, she oversees the GEAR UP Parent Outreach Program, and since August 2011 she has also facilitated and coordinated the College & Career Awareness component.  Under her leadership, nearly 250 parents have participated in workshops related to the College Admission Process and Financial Aid availability.  Mrs. García Mangado fosters parent involvement by using Epstein's model of Parent Involvement to outreach, inform and maintain parents involved. Previously, she worked facilitating and coordinating the Science of Small Things (SOST) educational program for middle school students in Lowell.  In addition, she is an experienced community organizer and has worked on numerous community outreach efforts in Lowell.
