The Center for Family, Work and Community is dedicated to providing exceptional organizational development, consultation and training. Our staff is available to consult with you about creating partnerships with university faculty, staff and students. We can help enhance community and organizational capacity by bringing university skills, strategic planning and expertise to groups outside the university. Our goal is to support 'community capacity building' by working with groups and organizations in the region to aid them in learning how to conduct strategic planning in their field.
Director: Linda Silka, Ph.D. Professor Regional Economic and Social Development
Welcome to the Center for Family, Work, and Community at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The CFWC is an outreach arm of the University. At the CFWC we work to bring faculty, staff and students together with community partners to solve longstanding problems in the region. As you will note on the website, we are engaged in many different activities. All of these activities, whether they focus on families, schools, communities, environment, or the workplace, emphasize partnerships. We do our work by creating opportunities for the university to work with and learn from partners. Please come and visit us. If you are out of the area, feel free to contact us by phone at 978-934-4677.
