John Palma is currently conducting research in the areas of semiconductor devices, automated fingerprinting technology and infrared medical imaging techniques. The semiconductor device research focuses on highly linear high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs), high power HEMTs, and novel quantum devices. In addition, the investigation of device breakdown phenomena in HEMTs and device modeling are some of his interests. Fingerprinting technology is focused on novel contactless fingerprinting methods. He has two patents pending and has coauthored several publications in the areas of semiconductor devices and contactless fingerprinting. Previously, he worked in the electronics manufacturing industry as a test engineer.
