POWER ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRIC MACHINES LABORATORYDescription The Power Electronics Laboratory is equipped with three Hampden Engineering Machine Stations and two Faraday Lab Stations, which are used primarily for demonstration experiments. The lab is also equipped with four bench lab stations for students to design, fabricate, and test projects for course and Capstone requirements. Research is conducted here in the area of solid-state power electronics applications and motor drive systems. The students gain hands-on experience in building power electronic based devices which furthers their understanding of class subject material. All state of the art power electronic devices such as Insulated Gate Bipolar transistor (IGBT), MCT, Power BJT, SCR, and MOSFET, are available for students to use. Courses offered:
