The UMass Lowell Center for Sustainable Energy develops systems to provide energy for various end uses in an environmentally and economically sustainable manner.
Past and present projects have focused on the following:

The Center is unique, combining undergraduate and graduate education, research, public service, service-learning and public education in its projects. It has existed since 1987, making it one of the oldest research centers at the University. It is affiliated with the Energy Engineering Program and the Village Empowerment Program.
