Planning Process Across All Five UMass Campuses

Under the direction of UMass Academic Vice President Selma Botman, CFWC faculty are helping to facilitate a process by which environmental researchers from throughout the university system come together to identify common partnership initiatives that we can pursue.  We have participated in various ways: writing concept papers, providing examples of our partnership work, recruiting faculty, and facilitating planning meetings. 

Linda Silka, for example, was selected to lead the first-ever planning meeting that brought together faculty leaders from around the state to identify common interests and strategies for partnership.  We are now a part of a five-faculty planning team that will host a conference in October that brings faculty from all of the campuses together to investigate strategies for combining research and outreach on the environment and environmental health.
