Printer FriendlyGEAR-UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) Opportunity Lowell is designed to increase the number of low-income students prepared to succeed in postsecondary education. The program is focused on increasing math literacy and raising the level of mathematical performance among students, and has well established partnerships among schools, colleges, local arts and youth-serving organizations, and coordinated activities with adult education and other programs to support parents in the schools and the community. The partners include University of Massachusetts Lowell, Lowell School Department, Middlesex Community College, the Revolving Museum, the Greater Lowell Boys & Girls Club, Lowell Telecommunications Corporation and the Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership.
