CITA Summer Project 2005

The CITA 2005 Summer Team was put together by the Center for Family, Work and Community (CFWC) for the purpose of researching, analyzing, and disseminating the results of a survey conducted by the Committee on Industrial Theory and Assessment (CITA) on issues of regional sustainability.

GOALS
The goals of the team were the analysis and dissemination of the results of a survey that took place during the previous year (2004) as part of CITA’s effort to get an idea of what issues UML students thought were important.

BACKGROUND
The questions of the survey covered a wide spectrum of issues like the environment, employment, social issues, health and others. Their answers were analyzed and gave the team an overall idea of what issues were critical. A list of persons of interest who would most likely be interested in learning about the survey results was given to the team.

STRATEGIES
The team contacted individuals from the list in trying to get the results out to faculty, academic and community groups that would be interested in using them. Apart from contacting these individuals, the team found additional ways of communicating the results by creating brochures, flyers, web articles, radio announcements, newspaper articles, presentations, etc. Our expectation is that the results of this combined effort will most likely become evident after the start of the academic year, when faculty, staff and students will be back from summer vacation.
