 Clinical Science Minor

Students interested in the Clinical Laboratory Science Minor offered by the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Nutritional Sciences must first obtain the authorization of the Department and present 18 credits in the minor field with at least six credits at the upper division course level.  The minor requires the following courses:

  • 35.101  Human A & P I                    3 cr
  • 35.102  Human A & P II                   3 cr
  • 35.103  Human A & P Lab I              1 cr
  • 35.104  Human A & P Lab II             1 cr
  • 35.252  Physiological Chemistry II     3 cr
  • 35.254  Physiological Chem Lab II      1 cr

and 6 credit hours from among the following courses:    

  • 36.350  Human Biochemistry             3 cr
  • 36.311  Medical Bacteriology            3 cr
  • 35.435  Medical & Clinical Genetics    3 cr
  • 36.331  Clinical Immunology             3 cr
  • 36.351  Clinical Lab Intrumentation    3 cr
  • 36.321  Clinical Hematology              3 cr

Nutrition Minor

Students interested in the Nutrition Minor offered by the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Nutritional Sciences must first obtain the authorization of the Department and present 21 credits in the minor field with at least six credits at the upper division course level.  The minor requires the following courses:

  • 35.101  Human A & P I                    3 cr
  • 35.102  Human A & P II                   3 cr
  • 35.103  Human A & P Lab I              1 cr
  • 35.104  Human A & P Lab II             1 cr
  • 35.252  Physiological Chem II           3 cr
  • 35.254  Physiological Chem Lab II      1 cr
  • 35.206  Human Nutrition                  3 cr

and 6 credit hours from among the following upper division courses:

  • 36.350  Human Biochemistry             3 cr
  • 36.406  Biochemistry of Lipids           3 cr
  • 36.371  Advanced Human Nutrition    3 cr
  • 36.372  Obesity & Weight Control      3 cr
  • 36.463  Vitamins & Minerals              3 cr
  • 36.465  Lab Methods & Nutr Assess   3 cr
  • 36.472  Nutrition & Gene Expression   3 cr
  • 36.481  Clinical Nutrition                  3 cr
