
The major in Psychology includes a minimum of 36 credits and a maximum of 45 credits in Psychology (with at least 18 credits at the 300 course level or above) and must include:
1. Each of the following courses:
* Must earn grade of C or higher
2. One course in each of the following three areas:
a. Personality and Abnormal Psychology
b. Social and Community Psychology
c. Experimental Psychology
3. Two 300 or higher level Psychology electives
4. One Advanced Seminar
5. One 400-level or above psychology elective
6. Students have the option of taking three additional Psychology courses (0-9 credits)

Diversity General Education requirement is met by taking 47.209 or 47.255.
Ethics General Education requirement is met by taking 47.269 and 47.375.
Students in the Psychology major are required to demonstrate intermediate level proficiency in a foreign language.
Psychology cumulative grade point average must be a minimum of 2.20 in order to graduate.
Students transferring to the University and wishing to major in Psychology need to contact the Chair of the Department regarding satisfaction of major requirements. In addition, students wishing to change their major from another college or department at UMass Lowell must have a minimum of 2.20 cumulative average.
