The Arabic Minor introduces students to critical approaches to the study of Islam, Muslim societies and cultures of the Middle East. The goal of this interdisciplinary minor in the humanities and social sciences is to broaden and deepen students’ understanding of Arabic societies and cultures in order to meet the demands of business, government and academia for skilled specialists in the language, culture, history and politics of the Middle East.
A minor in Middle East Studies consists of 18 to 24 credits (6 to 8) courses, at least two courses at the 300 level from the section of electives, including the following requirements:
