Peter J. Murray
Director of Campus Recreation

Pete graduated from Springfield College with a B.S. in Sports Management and Fitchburg State College with an M.B.A. in Management. At Springfield College he was a Varsity Volleyball Player and National Champion. After graduation, Pete took a job as Director of Parks and Recreation in Hampden, MA, from 1999 to 2000. From 2000 to 2005 he served as Assistant Director of Recreation Services at Fitchburg State College. While at Fitchburg State he oversaw Recreational Facilities and Operations, Intramural Sports, Outdoor Adventure, and Aquatics. Pete resides in Lowell and is an active outdoor enthusiast.

Justin J. Lawler 
Assistant Director, Fitness Programs & Facility Operations

Justin graduated from Fitchburg State College with a B.S. in Exercise Science and a B.S. in Business Management.  He recently received his M.B.A. from UMass Lowell in 2009.  From 2006 to 2007 he was the graduate assistant for the Intramural Sports Program at UMass Lowell. Justin currently resides in Lowell.

Devon Rembert
Coordinator of Intramural Sports & Summer Programs

Devon graduated from Millersville University with a B.S in Psychology in 2007 and recently received his Masters in Sport Management in 2009. He is from the Greater Philadelphia, PA, area. Devon served as the Graduate Assistant from 2008 to 2009 in the Intramural Sports Program at Millersville University and has worked as a Camp Director for multilple summer camps. Denise Daly
Office Assistant

Denise comes to UMass Lowell after working in the Data Processing Office at Lowell High School for seven years.  She also served as the Assistant System-wide Database Administrator for the Lowell Public School System. Before working at the high school, she worked as a bookkeeper at the Middlesex Shelter for the Homeless. Denise has been a Lowell resident her entire life and resides with her husband and three sons.

Christine Laakso
Club Sports Graduate Assistant

Christine graduated from Boston University in 2008 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. A lifelong athlete, she was a member of the B.U. Cross Country and Track & Field Teams and was also a Group Exercise Instructor. Originally from Fitchburg, MA, she is a former Massachusetts and New England High School 2-mile champion. She is pursuing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at UMass Lowell.

Craig Leduc
Intramural Sports Graduate Assistant           

Craig graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Sports Management. At Florida State Craig started out as an intramural official and quickly worked his way up to become an intramural supervisor. Craig is currently pursuing his Master's degree in Regional, Economic, & Social Development here at UMass Lowell.
