Intramurals

It is with great enthusiasm that I introduce to you the intramural sports program here at University of Massachusetts Lowell.  With a brand new, state of the art facility we will be able to offer a program that is innovative, creative and exciting.  We have an Intramural program that thrives on its diversity of offerings.  We are confident that you will find sports that will suite your interests and time schedule.

Intramural Vision

UML Intramural Sports will be a place where the Director of Campus Recreation and the student employees will work cooperatively in order to provide the Campus Community with the best Recreation Sports Programs of the entire UMass System.  We will achieve this goal by utilizing the many skills and talents of everyone involved in planning and running the Intramural Programs.  It is the duty of everyone involved to be creative in their thinking and open to the thinking of others.  The Recreation Sports Programs will be fun, competitive, and rewarding for all participants. We will measure our success not only by the number of participants involved, but also by our retention of participants and our ability to meet all the Recreation Sports interests of all our constituents.  Our intramural program will have something for everyone.  

Intramural Cup

This is a new tradition that we started in 2006-2007.  The Intramural Cup was developed to encourage teams and individuals to participate in a variety of intramural activities throughout the academic year.  Teams that maintain the same team name throughout the year will accumulate points based on participation and what place they finish in the league, event, or tournament.  At the conclusion of the year, the team with the most points will have each individuals name from that team engraved on the Intramural Cup Trophy.  The winning team will also receive intramural champion jackets.  For a description of how the point system was developed along with the current standings for this year, just click on the link at the top of the page.
