Rec-Cycles is a free, bicycle-lending library for UMass Lowell students, faculty and staff. It is our mission to promote the development of healthy lifestyles and bicycling as an attractive and sustainable mode of transportation for the UMass Lowell community. We strive to accomplish this by providing high-quality cycling equipment and services that will encourage an environmentally friendly commute between campuses as well as throughout the city of Lowell.
Rec-Cycles is a collaboration between the School of Health and Environment, University Facilities, and the Department of Campus Recreation as part of the Healthy Campus Initiative.
Rec-Cycles is free and fun and using bicycles is a lot better than sitting in traffic.
Getting A Bike
Visit the Welcome Desk at the UMass Lowell Campus Recreational Center anytime during our regular hours. Ask to borrow a Rec-Cycle. Bikes are kept on the racks in front of the Campus Recreation Center.

- Borrower must be a full-time student/faculty or staff member and have a valid UMass Lowell ID.
- Bikes must be returned by the end of the facility operating hours the day it is borrowed.
