Peter J. Murray
Director of Campus Recreation

Pete graduated from Springfield College with a BS in Sports Management and Fitchburg State College with an MBA in Management.  At Springfield College he was a Varsity Volleyball Player and National Champion.  After graduation Pete took a job as Director of Parks and Recreation in Hampden Massachusetts from 1999-2000.  From 2000-2005 he served as Assistant Director of Recreation Services at Fitchburg State College.  While at Fitchburg State he oversaw Recreational Facilities and Operations, Intramural Sports, Outdoor Adventure, and Aquatics. Peter resides in Lowell and is an active outdoor enthusiast.

Veronika Platzer
Director of Boathouse & Head Rowing Coach

Veronika Platzer, who led the University of Virginia rowing team's women's four to the 2004 NCAA Championship, was named the head coach of the UMass Lowell women's rowing program and director of the Bellegarde Boathouse.

Platzer comes to the University with an extensive background in rowing.  She has spent the last two years at the University of Michigan, which preceded four years at the University of Virginia and stints at the University of Wisconsin and Mercyhurst College.  Additionally Platzer has been a U.S. Junior National Team coach for the last three years.
