American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Classes

Campus Recreation now offers American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification classes for the Lay Responder. CPR/AED and First Aid certifications carry a 2-year certification with the American Red Cross.
CPR/AED/First Aid for the Lay Responder Class Description
Training will combine lecture and interactive video demonstrations featuring emergency scenarios that are likely to occur in a vairety of environments, as well as hands-on training to teach participants lifesaving skills.
Note: All classes below are for the Lay Responder and are not intended for persons looking for a Professional Rescuer or Healthcare Provider certification.
CPR Adult: Participants will learn how to perform CPR and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults.
CPR Child & Infant: Participants will learn how to prevent, recognize, and respond to cardiac breathing emergencies in infants and children under the age of 12.
AED: Participants will learn how and when to use an automatic external defribrillator.
First Aid: Participants will learn how to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts and scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, and back injuries, and heat and cold emergencies.

March 31, 2012: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
April 22, 2012: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Note: All classes will be held at the UMass Lowell Campus Recreation Center Meeting Room, 100 Pawtucket Street, Lowell, MA 01854.

Registration Fees: $85/person. Class is limited to 10 people!
