Directions by car to Durgin Hall
The Center for Arts and Ideas is located in Durgin Hall on UMass Lowell South, 35 Wilder Street, Lowell.

From points south or Boston
If you are coming from Boston or points South, take Route 128 North to Route 3 North; OR, Take Route 93 North to I-495 South

If traveling on Rt. 3 North, take Exit 30B onto the Lowell Connector.

If traveling on I-495 South, take Exit 35C onto the Lowell Connector.

From points north
If you are coming from points North, take Route 3 South, OR, Route 93 South to I-495 South.

If traveling on Route 3 South, take Exit 30A toward I-495 North. Immediately take Exit 35C to the Lowell Connector.

If traveling on I-495 South, take Exit 35C onto the Lowell Connector.

From the Lowell Connector, take Exit 3 onto Industrial Avenue. Go right at the stop sign at the end of the ramp and proceed to the rotary. Take the first right off the rotary onto Industrial Avenue. Proceed straight at the first traffic light at the intersection with Chelmsford Street (Route 110). (The 99 Restaurant Plaza is on your right.) Industrial Avenue becomes Stevens Street at this intersection.

Follow Stevens Street for approximately 1.5 miles through several intersections to the 2nd stop sign. Turn right onto Middlesex Street. Take the first left at the blinking light onto Wilder Street.

Proceed a short distance on Wilder to the traffic lights at the intersection with Broadway Street. From this intersection, Durgin Hall is the third (and final) UMass Lowell building on your left.

Parking for the STARTS Program**
**Note: Private cars require parking permits. Contact Center for the Arts, 978-934-4452, IN ADVANCE for a pass.

To park during the week, turn left at the intersection of Wilder and Broadway Streets. Park in the Riverview Lot (student lot) on Broadway. The entrance is the third driveway on the left. From there, walk back to the intersection of Wilder and Broadway and turn left. Durgin Hall is the third (and final) UMass Lowell building on your left.

Directions for buses and vehicles with handicapped passengers for the STARTS Program

If you are coming from Boston or points South, take Route 128 North to Route 3 North; OR, Take Rt. 93 North to 495 South To Route 3 North

If you are coming from points North, take Route 3 South, OR, Rt. 93 South to I-495 South to Route 3 North.

All traffic: From Route 3 North, take Exit 32 and turn right at the light onto Drum Hill Road. From Route 3 South, take Exit 32, bear left at the second set of lights, and proceed straight through the next set of lights onto Drum Hill Road.

After 6/10 of a mile, Drum Hill becomes Wood Street. Continue on Wood Street for 4/10 of a mile and turn right at the light onto Middlesex Street. (This is the last turn before the Rourke Bridge. You don't want to go over the bridge.)

Proceed straight 1.4 miles and turn right onto Wilder Street. There will be a Hess Gas Station on the corner. Durgin Hall is the first University building.

University Police will direct you to park along the sidewalk. Handicapped passenger vehicles can pull up to the front entrance of Durgin for the convenience of their passengers.
