The Power of Possibility: Alumni Showcase
On Tuesday, April 13, UMass Lowell welcomes Saro Picciotto ’81 as a guest of its Alumni Showcase speaker series at 4 p.m. in Falmouth 313. Picciotto is an accomplished executive with an extensive background and track record in developing, executing and managing business lines in the securities industry. As chairman and CEO of Wainwright Investment Counsel, Picciotto will discuss his role in the management and growth of the company and share his insight into the state of investment banking.

The Showcase, which is part of the Power of Possibility: The Annual Campaign for UMass Lowell, was launched last September in an effort to bring graduates, who have used the power of a UMass Lowell education to build successful careers, back to campus to share their stories and professional experience with members of the University community.

Earlier this month, Steven Starkey ’79, Vice President of Marketing at Lenovo Corporation, a multinational technology corporation that develops, manufactures and markets desktops and notebook personal computers and related services, kicked off the spring Alumni Showcase with a discussion about the importance of today’s marketing industry in a technology age.

Upcoming speakers in the Spring 2010 series include:
  • Kathy Allen ’77, former Corporate Vice President and CFO of Millipore Corporation, who will speak on Tuesday, April 27 at 4 p.m. in Falmouth 313.

  • Frank Paolino ’80, Founder and President of MayFlower Software, to speak on North Campus on Thursday, April 28.
All discussions are free and open to the public. For more information on the Power of Possibility: The Annual Campaign for UMass Lowell, email Heather_Makrez@uml.edu  or visit www.uml.edu/advancement/give.
