Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is the Phone Room?The Phone Room is a call center that allows UMass Lowell to stay connected with alumni, parents and friends. It also serves as a major fundraising tool for the University. Each academic year, about 40 student caller’s contact close to 70,000 alumni, parents and friends both in the fall semester and again in the spring semester. The student callers help to raise funds that support the many campus services that broaden academic experiences and enrich campus life. The students will also keep you updated on current campus events and answer any questions you may have. What has the Phone Room Done?Over the years the Phone Room has generated millions of dollars from alumni, parents and friends. In the last three years, the Phone Room has averaged about $579,053 per fiscal year. In Fiscal Year 2008 (ended June 30, 2008), the Phone Room raised $521,476 in gifts and pledges. The Phone Room also keeps alumni connected by updating contact information and mentioning upcoming events. When will the Phone Room Call Me?The Fundraising Season kicks off in mid-August and will go until early December. After Winter Break, the campaign will continue through the winter months and into the spring, ending in June The Phone Room is located on the third floor of the Wannalancit Mills. The hours of operation are Sundays 1-9 p.m. and Monday - Thursday 6 - 9 p.m. The students occasionally make calls on Fridays and Saturdays as well. | |
