This committee of the Alumni Relations Council concentrates its efforts on providing volunteer assistance to worthwhile community service projects in the Greater Lowell area. Each year, the committee evaluates projects in the greater Lowell area that need volunteer support and makes a recommendation to the Council for the project to be supported in the coming year. In the past, this committee has focused on such programs as Gear-Up, a federally funded program whose mission is to help middle school students increase their chances to attend college.
