Open House: What You Can Do

Note: Open House begins at the Tsongas Arena. Do not go to the Admissions Office. Directions to Open House.

Explore Academic Opportunities

Visit College booths on the main floor of the Arena. You can gather information and talk to faculty and students about majors, concentrations, and program options that interest you. Hear the insights of current and former students, and ask the Dean a question.

Get the Fact$

Visit the Admissions and Financial Aid tables to learn the costs for tuition, fees, room and board for Fall 2005. Stop by the Accounts Receivable booth for information on payment plans. Pick up the latest information on scholarships at various locations. Check out campus work possibilities and career options at the Career Services exhibit.

Experience Campus Life

Shoot a little one-on-one, learn about the many community service opportunities, find out what it takes to be a broadcaster on WJUL, see how the latest Off-Broadway Players’ production is coming along, pick up the list of Rec. Sports, enjoy a range of musical ensembles, and find out how to join everything that interests you. The Tsongas Arena exhibits will give you a chance to sample some of the campus’s dozens of student clubs and organizations and the many other activities that will keep you busy outside the classroom.

Attend a Workshop

There will be information sessions on academic programs and on the how-tos of applying for Financial Aid. Each workshop will be given twice, so you can fit in everything that interests you.

Walk the Campus

See the classrooms, labs, libraries, dining halls, and other facilities you'll use as an undergraduate. Join walking tours of UML North and South. Check out the residence hall in which freshman most often live. Take a bus from the Tsongas Arena to the Tour Hub for each tour.

Check the schedule for times of departmental tours on campus.

Enjoy the Extras

Enjoy the UMass Lowell Festival Band as you arrive at the Tsongas Arena. The Boston Herald called this sound “the best pep band in Hockey East.”

Shake hands with the UMass Lowell Riverhawk!

Talk With Us!

The Chancellor and the Provost (the people who shape academic and operating policies for the University) will be at the Open House  to meet and talk with you. Deans will also be available for conversation. And the rest of us (faculty, staff, students, and alumni) will be available throughout the day to answer questions, share information, hear about your interests and concerns, and help you find the answers you are looking for.

Getting Around Campus

Free bus service will be provided between Open House activities at the Tsongas Arena and Tour Hubs on North, South, and East.

We recommend you park at the Ayotte Garage next to Tsongas Arena, and use bus transportation to reach other parts of campus. Directions follow.
