The University is upgrading the Student Administration system.

  

Due to the upgrade, the online web application is currently unavailable.

 

How can I apply to an undergraduate program at this time?

You can complete the undergraduate application at the following website:  https://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/default.aspx.

 

When will the Online Web Application be available?

December 2, 2009, at 7:00 a.m. (Eastern Time, US)

About the Application

The Application for Undergraduate Admissions can be used by freshmen, transfer and international students entering a daytime bachelor's degree program at UMass Lowell.

Please apply online or with a paper application.  If you do not have an application, you can contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and one will be sent to you. 

Be sure to read carefully all the information that applies to you before you complete an application.

Instructions for Applying Online

What you should know before you begin:

  1. The online application must be completed and submitted in one sitting.
  2. You will need to have Internet Explorer 4.0 or Netscape versions 4.0 or higher.
  3. Use the "back" button on your browser to navigate to a previous page in your application.
  4. Use upper and lower case letters when supplying your name information.
  5. Complete all required fields on the application pages denoted by the asterisk. (*)
  6. Once your application has been submitted, you cannot make corrections to it online. Please review your application carefully before you submit it. Corrections to your application must be made in writing to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  7. Please print a copy of your application for your records at the end of the online process.
  8. Shortly after submitting a web application, you will receive written acknowledgement of your application.
  9. Essay Questions- On a separate sheet of paper, prepare a one-to-two page essay (about 500 words) answering one of the following questions to be submitted with your application. You may either mail the essay or e-mail it to Admissions@uml.edu.
    1. What do you do in your spare time?
    2. In your opinion, what is the greatest challenge your generation will face? What ideas do you have for dealing with this issue?
    3. If you had to formulate the perfect admissions essay question, what would it be and how would you answer it?
    4. Topic of choice
  10. Please be sure to send in any supporting documents, such as: high school transcripts, essay, a letter of recommendation, SAT scores, and college transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
