As a student, I think you should pick a college that works for you. Choose a place that will fit your wants and needs, financially, academically and socially. Don’t base your college career on a name, reputation and looks, for looks can be deceiving. Base this important decision on quality and facts. Go investigate many schools, public and private if need be, and then make a decision. Do what works for you in the long run because college is short, but the education – and loans – you receive last much longer.
I have been really surprised about UMass Lowell. I came here, like many others, with low expectations based on what I had heard from peers who had not attended the University. I have not once been disappointed with this school, and my family and I are constantly impressed.
I have had an excellent experience in the classroom with high quality professors and a wonderful Exercise Physiology curriculum. I have a wonderful advisor who has guided me through my three years, sending letters home and checking in from time to time. I have been challenged and have learned a lot.
I am involved in many extracurricular activities, and am constantly impressed with how the university values and conducts business with these groups and organizations. I have been inducted into honor societies and received awards that have all provided a wonderful banquet for every event.
UMass Lowell has impressed me from every angle, and I can honestly say that I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else!
