
Commencement Eve Celebration

To honor the excellence represented at Commencement, and also to raise money for student scholarships, UMass Lowell will host a Commencement Eve Celebration at the historic Allen House, 2 Solomont Way, on South Campus on Friday, May 29, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. This evening will celebrate the accomplishments of student award winners, honorary degree recipients and the distinguished alumna.
Honorary degree recipients Bernard Amadei, founder of Engineers without Borders; George Duncan, chairman of Enterprise Bank; Chaz Maviyane-Davies, a professor and artist whose posters make powerful visual statements on social issues; and Robert Pozen, chairman of MFS Investments, will be recognized. Kathleen Allen ’77, former chief financial officer of Millipore Corp., will be honored as the distinguished alumna.
Tickets are $100 per person. Proceeds from sponsorships and tickets sales will be directed to the UMass Lowell Scholars Fund, which supports tuition and other financial needs of UMass Lowell students.
