Public Service Endowment GrantPublic Service Endowment Grant applications are now available to faculty and staff. These grants are intended to enhance the public service mission of the University, by bringing the skills and knowledge of faculty and staff to bear on a problem or project identified with community groups, schools, non-profit businesses, health and human service organizations, etc. The grants serve as an internal source of funds for pilot projects. Projects that have the potential to lead to proposals for external funding will be given priority. This year, these endowed grants will disburse $18,103. The budget for each submitted proposal should not exceed $5,000. A faculty member or staff member may only be involved in one submitted proposal, whether this is as the PI or Co-PI. New faculty are particularly encouraged to apply. Proposals must be received by March 1, 2009 as an email attachment to Cheryl_Hugus@uml.edu GUIDELINES: PROPOSAL NARRATIVE (No more than three pages + budget page): 5. Will the results be publishable? Will these funds prepare you to apply for external funding? If so, what agency or foundation is your target? 6. What is your proposed budget and justification? (Note: No part of the budget can be used for UML faculty salary.) 7. List all sources of current grant support. 8. What is your timeline for expenditure of funds and for completion of your proposed project? REVIEW MECHANISM: Decisions will be announced by April 1, 2009 Recipients will be expected to submit a one-page final report on completion of the project. | |
