Description All the machinery and all the technology
of the 19th century depended on people. In this program the emphasis is on the
world of Lowell's workers: both the early Yankee workers and agents and the later--and
current-- immigrants. Activities Include
- Experiencing what it would be like to be an immigrant
- Become one of sixty
researched historical characters from 1840 to today
- Use authentic artifacts
and interpret documents
- Tour the Working People Exhibit in the restored
Boardingouse
- Find out how the original "mill girls" lived.
Scheduling
and Reservations Yankees and Immigrants is offered September through June.
2007-2008 Guided School Program Fees: $195
Programs may be reserved as of May 1, 2008 for dates during the 2008-2009 school
