Farm to Factory

History Social Science Learning Standards
3.9 Identify historic buildings, monuments, or sites in the area and explain their purpose and significance;
3.12 Explain how objects or artifacts of everyday life in the past tell us how ordinary people lived and how everyday life has changed.

Science and Technology
Physical Sciences Forms of Energy 4 Identify the basic forms of energy. Recognize that energy is the ability to cause motion or create change.
5 Give examples of how energy can be transferred from one form to another
Technology/Engineering Materials and Tools
1.1 Identify materials used to accomplish a design task based on a specific property

English/Language Arts Learning Standards
1.2 Follow agreed-upon rules for class discussion and carry out assigned roles in self-run small group discussions.
3.3 Adapt language to persuade, to explain, or to seek information.
8.12 Identify sensory details and figurative language.
8.14 Make judgements about setting, characters, and events and support them with evidence from the text. 8.15 Locate facts that answer the readerŐs questions.
8.17 Distinguish fact from opinion or fiction.
8.18 Summarize main ideas and supporting details. 9.3 Identify similarities and differences between the characters or events in a literary work and the actual experiences in an authorŐs life.
