Below is information about our Summer Day Camp programs for Summer 2009.

Kids on the WaterwheelBoott Camp
July 6-10, 2009 (spaces still available)
July 27-31, 2009 (spaces still available)
Boys and Girls ages 8-12 (Entering Grades 3-7)

Come to build and test your own canal system, weave cloth on a four-harness loom, explore the historic Boott Mills and the boardinghouse, visit an operating factory weave room, ride a trolley, take a boat trip on the Merrimack River, do crafts, and play games. Explore the roots of the American Industrial Revolution! All that we consider modern was shaped by this period!
 

Wonders of Water Camp
July 20-24, 2009 (spaces still available)
August 3-7, 2009 (Registration Full)
Boys and Girls ages 8-12 (Entering Grades 3-7)

Come to explore the properties of water and water chemistry. Build a canal system, become an inventor, take a boat trip on the Merrimack River onboard a National Park Service boat and see how the river was used for fishing, transportation, and power. Examine water quality, do crafts, and play games. Campers discover the connections between science and history through water.

National Parks Adventures Camp
July 13-17, 2009 (spaces still available)

Boys and Girls ages 10-14 (Entering Grades 5-9)

Visit four National Parks in Massachusetts to explore the real things and places that are part of America’s story. Meet a Revolutionary War soldier at Minute Man National Historical Park, ferry to Boston Harbor Islands, explore “Old Ironsides” in Charlestown Navy Yard at Boston National Historical Park, and navigate Lowell’s canal system, weave, and "work the line" at Lowell National Historical Park. Experience your America!

Boott Camp: Discovery! (NEW FOR 2009!)

July 20-24 (Registration Full)
Boys and Girls, ages 10-14
(Entering Grades 5-9)

New this year. For the older camper who wants more of a challenge.  Can you drop an egg from fifteen feet without breaking it?  See how far you can make a rocket fly.  Explore the plants and animals along the Merrimack River.  Go on fun field trips. Weave cloth on our four harness looms. Become an inventor using household "junk."  This camp will take you a step beyond the ordinary!

Cost
$175 per camper per week (Sibling discount price $155)

Schedule
Each camp runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Lunches
Snacks and T-shirts are provided; students bring a brown bag lunch.

Summer Camp Staff
Summer camp programs are designed and staffed by professional educators through the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Lowell National Historical Park. We have at least one staff member for each 8 to 10 children. Safety is always our first concern.

Space is available on a first come, first served basis.

To register, please download and print the registration form (pdf) and mail with a check for half the payment. The remaining amount will be due two weeks prior to the start of camp.
