In an effort to better serve members of the university community, Solomont Way on South Campus will undergo a number of changes.
Effective July 14, the reserved visitor parking spaces on Solomont Way will no longer be available by reservation. The visitor spaces on Solomont Way will be available for use on a first-come first-serve basis until Solomont Way is restriped to accommodate additional handicapped parking. The Broadway/Riverview Lot is also available throughout the summer for visitor parking needs.
In August, the new South Campus Metered Lot on the corner of Wilder and Bachelder streets will open. This lot will serve as short-term parking for the public and university community. The lot will have numbered spaces and require payment at a kiosk in 15-minute increments (rates to be determined), much like the City of Lowell parking meters. For reserved visitor parking UCAPS will be able to generate “coupon codes” if requests are made prior to the visitor’s travel to campus. These codes can be entered at the kiosk by the visitor for complimentary parking in lieu of Solomont Way’s parking program.
Existing Cabinet and Chair parking on Solomont Way will continue to be available.
If you have any questions about these changes or visitor parking on South Campus, please contact the UCard, Access and Parking Services office at UCAPS@uml.edu
