Call for Fall 2014 Arts and Ideas Submissions, Deadline 5/30

The Center for Arts and Ideas is compiling information and photographs for the Fall 2014 issue of Arts & Ideas. If you have an event taking place between September 2014 and December 2014, please let us know. Send a summary of the event as well as any high resolution photographs you may have that can be paired with the event description.

Our event calendar categories are Art, Music, Theater & Film, Literature & Writing, Talks & Lectures, Festival, Fairs & Community Events, Student Activities, Athletics and Alumni.

Event descriptions should include: program title, date, time, location, and where to go for more information, either a website or an e-mail address. Descriptions should not exceed 100 words and the may be edited for length. Please use the attached submission form for your event information.

With “Inter-Glacial Free Trade Agency,” Lynn Richardson examines the relationship between governments and corporations through the guise of a trade show. Richardson focuses on the end products being marketed to the public, specifically fashionable survival gear and equipment, in the event we are thrust back into an ice age as a result of global warming. Objects and other items are branded with the same logo, convincing the viewer that in the “new world” there is only one choice. The deadline to submit information an event for publication in the Fall issue of Arts & Ideas is Friday, May 30, 2014. We must maintain this schedule in order to allow adequate time for design and printing of the publication, which must be ready for mailing and distribution by August.

If your events are not solidified by the content deadline, please still keep us in mind while promoting your events. We are happy to add events to our online calendar and Facebook/Twitter feeds whether they are in the publication or not.
