"Who Wears the Pants? Women Workers in Male-Dominated Fields"
What do engineering, the clergy, the military, construction, computer science, management, and policing all have in common? They are all historically male- dominated occupations. Join the Center for Women & Work as we explore the experiences of women workers and students who have entered these fields. We will examine the issue through various lenses: through academic research that provides statistics and examines the influence of long-held societal values; through women's stories of what it’s like to work in these fields; and through the narratives of those who advocate for gender equity in these fields.
CWW faculty Associates Kim Merriman (Management), Melissa Morabito (Criminology and Justice Studies), and & Michelle Haynes (Psychology) will present findings from their research.
