Meet Greeley Scholars for Peace Studies 4/9

"Reflections on Peace-Building" is the first-ever gathering of distinguished leaders who have served as the UMass Lowell Dana McLean Greeley Scholar for Peace Studies. On Wednesday, April 9, the scholars will engage in a panel discussion from 5 to 7 p.m. moderated by Marcellette Williams, UMass Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs & International Relations. Meet the Scholars at a reception with hors d'oeuvres and beverages from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Both events take place at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center.


Meet leading humanitarians and peace advocates:

  • Justice Albie Sachs (2014), distinguished human rights champion from South Africa
  • Leymah Gbowee (2011), Nobel Peace Prize-winner from Liberia
  • Gavriel Salomon (2010), Center for Research on Peace Education, University of Haifa
  • Padraig O'Malley (2009), Moakley Distinguished Professor for Peace and Reconciliation, UMass Boston
  • Linda Biehl (2008), Amy Biehl Foundation & Felton Humanitarian Award recipient
Tickets are $75 per person and proceeds will benefit the Greeley Scholar Endowment.
