Health Informatics & Management Graduate Program
The UMass Lowell Health Informatics & Management Program is a member of the ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives) Health Education Network.
About the Health Informatics & Management Program This multidisciplinary program is firmly rooted in the latest health-care practice, policy and research as well as the current and future state of Health IT. Students pursuing the Health Informatics tract will be positioned to play important roles in the decision making, integration, and implementation of IT technologies in all aspects of health care delivery. The program integrates the values shared by dedicated public health and health care professionals, with a deep understanding of the unique characteristics and the management principles of public health policy and health care delivery, along with the rigorous methods required if students are to improve health and well-being in an increasingly complex environment. Competence with existing and emerging information and computer technologies is incorporated into all aspects of the program, and we offer a special concentration in Health Informatics. The Health Informatics & Management Program offers master’s degrees with three alternative majors or concentrations: For master's degree course requirements, check the UMass Lowell Graduate Catalog. In addition to Master's degree programs, UMass Lowell's Health Informatics & Management Program offers graduate certificate programs in three areas: A four-course certificate program of study is available to individuals who are not interested in pursuing a master’s degree. The certificates are designed to help professionals take advantage of advanced studies beyond the bachelor’s degree and acquire advanced knowledge and skills. It gives other individuals the opportunity to explore graduate education without committing to a full course of study for a master’s degree. However, any courses completed in the certificate programs are applicable to a master’s degree. Students entering the certificate programs must only be a graduate with a bachelor’s degree. | |
