Akshay Kokil is a research associate with diverse academic and industrial research experience. Kokil received his undergraduate education in polymer engineering at University of Pune, India, and earned his Ph.D in macromolecular science and engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
He has extensive research experience in design, synthesis, characterization and processing of advanced materials for applications in new technologies, such as, alternate energy (solar cells, fuel cells, energy storage devices), flexible electronics, sensors (detection of chemical warfare agents, explosives, and toxic metal ions), and functional and reactive coatings. Several of his publications have been featured on journal covers and highlighted in research sections of magazines and websites. He has authored the book Conjugated Polymer Networks: Synthesis and Properties,VDM Verlag Dr. Müller, ISBN: 3639222660, 2010.
