Orientation and Transfer Registration programs are required for all accepted students entering the university.

First-Year Orientation

During Orientation, students meet their college-based advisor, register for classes and familiarize themselves with UMass Lowell. Sessions are run by current students and organized by college and major, providing an opportunity to ask questions and meet fellow classmates before the semester begins.

Transfer Registration

Transfer Registration consists of both a virtual presentation and a meeting with an advisor to register for classes. The program is designed to meet the specific needs of students transferring to UMass Lowell. Representatives from offices across campus as well as student orientation leaders are available to answer all questions.

OMA Student Success Summit

In addition to Orientation and Transfer Registration, the Office of Multicultural Affairs’ Student Success Summit is a program that allows students to learn about campus resources and develop connections with faculty, staff, and their peers.  The Student Success Summit is open to all students and required for undergraduate international students.
