Freshman and Transfer Student Overview
Freshman
The UMass Lowell Freshman Orientation Program is required for all students entering the University. It is the only opportunity you, as an incoming student, will have to meet with your advisor and get the information you need to start your semester.
Orientation is designed to give you the foundation you need to make a successful start in your student career. You'll get a preview of life as an undergraduate and a chance to have your questions answered. Orientation sessions are organized by college and major, so the students you meet at Orientation are the students you will be sitting next to in class. In addition, our Orientation Leaders are current undergraduate students. They can give you the inside track on campus life, professors, and just about anything.
Transfer Students
Transfer Registration is a half-day program designed to get you registered for your classes, to set you up with your ID, and to make you comfortable with what it means to be a UMass Lowell college student.
Check-in for Transfer Registration is on North Campus at 8:30am. There, you will be greeted by Orientation Leaders who will get you set up for the day. Please plan on being here for at least 4 hours.
Re-admitted students are welcome to participate in any part of the Transfer Registration program, especially if you have been out of school for a while, however it is not mandatory.
The date you can attend is based on your major. We encourage you to select the earliest date that fits in your schedule.
