Online Searchable Funding Databases
SMARTS/GENIUS
Sponsored Program Information Network (SPIN) is an up-to-date listing of national and international government and private funding sources. It is the number one database of its kind and used by over 700 institutions worldwide.
GRANTS.GOV
Grants.gov is a central storehouse for information on thousands of federal grant programs. Besides being the mechanism for which many federal proposals are electronically submitted, it is also a helpful mechanism for getting information on federal funding opportunities. Information can be obtained immediately by using the Grant Search Quick Link or through periodic emails by signing up for the email subscription. Both can be done through the above link.
Limited Submission Programs
In limited submission programs, the sponsor restricts the number of proposals a campus can submit in response to a solicitation. In the event that more investigators are interested in submitting than are allowed by the sponsor, the institution is expected to review prospective proposals and determine which proposals will be allowed to go forward.
