Student Moviemakers Screen Works at MovieFest
When: Thursday, March 24, 7 p.m.
What: Student moviemakers will showcase their talent at the second annual Campus MovieFest Red Carpet Finale. The top 16 movies created by UMass Lowell students will be screened and winners will be awarded prizes including Final Cut Pro editing software, iPods and an invitation to the 2011 International Grand Finale, the world’s largest student film festival, to be held in Hollywood in June. The event is free.

University Marks 20th Anniversary of ADA
When: Monday, March 28, 10 to 11 a.m.
What: UMass Lowell will kick off a celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The first event will feature several speakers, including an official from the state commission for disabilities and a student. During the event, students will sign a large banner that reads “I Agree to Disable the Label,” which will be permanently displayed on campus. Throughout the week, members of the UMass Lowell community and representatives of organizations and agencies will host a variety of events to raise awareness about issues facing people who are challenged with disabilities. Events include a demonstration of technologies developed or adapted to help people with disabilities

Lunchtime Lecture Examines Diversity in Health Care
When: Monday, March 28, noon to 1:30 p.m.
What: The talk is part of the Lunchtime Lecture Series and is co-sponsored by the Moses Greeley Parker Lectures, Middlesex Community College, Prof. Bill Mass and the UMass Lowell Center for Arts and Ideas. The lecture is open to the public. To attend, e-mail email@example.com

‘Big Jazz Night’ Concert Features Big Bands
When: Tuesday, March 29, 7:30 p.m.
What: The sound of Big Band music will fill the air at the “Big Jazz Night” concert. UMass Lowell’s 18-piece Studio Jazz Orchestra and the 22-piece Jazz Rock Big Band will open for the nationally acclaimed Compaq Big Band. The concert is free and open to the public.

When: Wednesday, March 30, 3 to 6 p.m.
