Author to Speak on Draft Resistance and Vietnam War

WHAT:  Author and Prof. Michael Foley next week will address "Draft Resistance and the War in Vietnam" at UMass Lowell.  Foley, an assistant professor of history at the College of Staten Island-CUNY, is the author of Confronting the War Machine.  The lecture is free and open to the public.

 

WHERE:  Coburn Hall 205, UMass Lowell South, Broadway and Wilder streets

 

WHY:  Foley is editor of Dear Dr. Spock: Letters on the Vietnam War from Middle America (to be published by NYU Press in 2005), and is currently writing Life During Wartime: America in the 1970s and 1980s (to be published by Hill & Wang in 2005.)  Over the last two years, he has devoted time to protesting against the Iraq war and occupation, most recently with "Billionaires for Bush" (www.billionairesforbush.com.)
