Many Continuing With Associate's Program
LOWELL -Nineteen Analog Devices employees recently completed a customized certificate program in Engineering Skills provided by the University of Massachusetts Lowell's Division of Continuing Studies and Corporate Education (CSCE). This is the second group from Analog to complete the certificate since the program was established in 2000.
The seven-course certificate was delivered on-site at Analog's Wilmington facility along with student services such as advising and registration. The Electronics Circuit Lab course utilized a custom designed portable electronics lab kit to enable the program to be delivered completely on-site.
"We're delighted to collaborate with UMass Lowell on our Engineering Skills Certificate program," says Mark Norton, VP/GM Wilmington Manufacturing, at Analog Devices. "Employees are pleased to have the program on-site and we are happy to have the program tailored to meet our needs; at the end of it we have a more educated, skilled workforce."
Many of the graduates are continuing their education through an on-site associate's degree in engineering technology offered by CSCE.
"Analog has been a longtime partner of the University's," says Dean Jacqueline Moloney, CSCE. "We are pleased to be part of a company's strategy to strengthen its workforce and in turn, the region."
