An Evening with Eve Ensler-Author of The Vagina Monologues

 

When: Friday, Dec. 12, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Evos Arts Institute, 98 Middle St., Lowell, MA.

 

What:

World-renowned playwright Eve Ensler, author of the The Vagina Monologues and founder of V-Day, the global movement to end violence against women, will give her first performance ever in Lowell, Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Evos Arts Institute on Middle Street. Admission is $25, $15 with a student ID.

Ensler's performance will include new works that focus on the plight of international women suffering rape and torture during wartimes.

200 Voices Sing Sounds of the Season

When: Friday, Dec. 12, 7:30 p.m. (Admission Free)

 

Where: Durgin Hall, UMass Lowell South, Wilder St., Lowell, MA.

 

What:

Nearly 200 voices of all ages will come together to sing in a free evening of fun, song, laughter and holiday spirit, Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the UMass Lowell's Durgin Hall! Santa's elves will make a special appearance. Admission is free.

2003 BFA Student Multi-Media Exhibit Hangs at EVOS

 

When: December 13 - 28, 2003, Reception: Saturday, Dec. 13, 2 - 5 p.m.

Where: Evos Arts Institute, 98 Middle Street, Lowell, MA

What:

The UMass Lowell Art Department is pleased to present an exhibition of Senior Thesis Projects by the Fall 2003 BFA Candidates at EVOS Arts Institute in historic downtown Lowell from December 13-28. An opening reception will take place Saturday, December 13th from 2 - 5 pm. Gallery hours are Thursday & Friday 4 - 8 pm, Saturday & Sunday 1 - 5 pm. 

The exhibit will feature a variety of media, including graphic design, illustration, animation, painting, photography, and sculpture. This event is free and open to the public.  Directions  to Evos can be found at http://evosarts.com.

UMass Lowell's 'Bobble Jack' Takes Final Nod

 

When: Sunday, Dec. 14, 1-3 p.m.

Where: Downtown Barnes & Noble in Lowell

What:

For those who missed their chance to secure an authentic Jack Kerouac Bobblehead doll over the summer, the UMass Lowell English Department will place 200 of the highly sought-after dolls on sale Sunday, December 14, at the Downtown Barnes & Noble in Lowell, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The tax-deductible price of $35 will benefit the English Department's Kerouac Programs such as the Writer-in-Residence and the Kerouac Scholarship awarded each spring. There will be a limit of two dolls per customer. This batch of 200 dolls are likely to be the last made available to the public.
