In Katrina’s Wake: Would We Be Ready?

When:      Monday, Nov. 7, 11:45 a.m. ߝ 2 p.m.

Where:     Alumni Library, UML North, One University Ave., Lowell

What:       Environmental Health Prof. Dr. David Ozonoff of Boston University, Lowell Fire Chief and Emergency Management Director William Desrosiers, and Director of Greater Lowell Paramedics Benjamin Podsiadlo will evaluate the Northeast Region’s readiness to responds to natural disasters, public health threats and potential acts of terrorism.

Lunch begins at 11:45. At 12:30, Dr. Ozonoff will look at biodefense, followed by Desrosiers and then Podsiadlo, who will examine how prepared our region is for emergencies and disasters.

The event is sponsored by The New England Consortium (TNEC), headquartered on the UMass Lowell campus. TNEC is one of 20 national programs administered by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS).  TNEC works in collaboration with UMass Lowell’s Department of Work Environment.
