What: Michael Dukakis, a distinguished professor of political science at Northeastern University and visiting professor at the School of Public Policy at UCLA, will speak on “A Regional Rail Plan for New Englandߞ;Important, Needed and Has Anybody Seen It?” Democratic presidential candidate in 1988 and twice governor of Massachusetts, Dukakis is well known for his research on national health care policy reform and his advocacy of public transportation. President Clinton named him to the Board of Directors of Amtrak in 1998 and he is currently vice chairman of the Amtrak Reform Board. A buffet lunch is available.
