By David Pevar, Lowell SunLOWELL -- Given that the university's chancellor served 14 years in the U.S. House of Representatives, he seemed a handy resource worth tapping for course No. 46.343 -- "The Congress."
Also, UMass Lowell Chancellor Marty Meehan knows a few people. This his students are learning.
"What's the proper way to address him?" a student asked Meehan, moments before guest lecturer Barney Frank arrived on South Campus on Friday.
"Congressman Frank," instructed Meehan, teaching this course on Congress alongside Patricia Sullivan Talty, a local attorney and adjunct faculty member.
"I tell personal stories," Meehan explained. "It's a good chance to talk about my experiences in Congress and interact with students."
