U.S. Rep. Marty Meehan to speak to UMass Lowell Students
When: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 12:00 p.m.
Where: UMass Lowell O'Leary Library, Room 222, 61 Wilder St., South Campus
What: U.S. Rep. Marty Meehan, a UMass Lowell alumnus, this month will speak on a variety of current issues to political science students and other members of the University community.
The talk, arranged by Political Science Prof. Fred Lewis, is set for Wednesday, October 30 at noon. in Room 222, O'Leary Library, 61 Wilder St., on UMass Lowell's south campus. Meehan will speak about the recently enacted Shays-Meehan campaign reform legislation, which he co-authored, and the constitutional challenges it will face. Meehan also is expected to address other topics of current political interest including civil rights and gender issues facing Congress, the 2002 elections, the state of the economy, terrorism and Iraq.
