The second annual Excellence in Research Day was held on Thursday, April 26, and featured a live webcast of research presentations being presented at UMass Lowell.

Kavitha Chandra, assistant professor, Electrical and Computer Engineering, discussed her group’s research on predicting internet traffic. 

At 10:00 a.m., Profs. Thomas Shea, Biology, and Gene Rogers, Health and Clinical Sciences, described nutritional deficiencies that contribute to Alzheimer’s Diseases.

At 11:00 a.m., John Craig Freeman, assoc. professor of Art, discussed his research on developing a documentary/video-based virtual reality method. 

Dr. Martin Louis-Vega, director of engineering for the National Science Foundation, spoke at the awards luncheon.
