Author Holds Event at Andover Bookstore

Paul Marion, director of Outreach and the author of several collections of poetry, read from his latest book, “What Is the City,” at the Andover Bookstore on Thursday, April17.
Marion says this book about Lowell, which he calls his “jigsaw vision of the city,” features “Dith Pran, Pinky, Manny and Maria, the Golden Gloves, Bob Dylan, mills, the river, the neighborhoods.” He adds, “Writing, publishing and reading poetry with a community in mind can help strengthen a sense of belonging to a place and fortify the social glue.”
Also appearing at the bookstore’s Local Poetry Night event were Jonathan Weinert, an Andover resident who read from his new poetry collection, which was selected for the 2006 Nightboat poetry prize.
