Author Andre Dubus III to Speak About Works

Andre Dubus III, the award-winning author of House of Sand and Fog, will speak on Tuesday, Oct. 12 at
"An Evening with Andre Dubus III" is sponsored by the Moses Greeley Parker Lecture Series and UMass Lowell. The event is free and open to the public. A visiting instructor at UMass Lowell, Dubus is best known for writing the House of Sand and Fog which became an Oscar-nominated, major motion picture in 2003. He will discuss and read from among his three novels, as well as several other works.
Before finding his calling as a writer, the author worked in brief stints as a bounty hunter, private investigator, carpenter, bartender, actor and teacher. His first book, The Cage Keeper and Other Stories, was published in 1989, followed in 1993 by his first novel, Bluesman.
