LOWELL - UMass Lowell Professor Emeritus John LeBaron will travel to Guangzhou, China on a Fulbright grant to teach educational skills. LeBaron, a resident of Acton, will advise the South China Normal University on academic program design, online learning and technology-enhanced teaching. Also, he will lecture in South China and advise the Hong Kong America Center on media production projects.

            LeBaron is an expert in online teaching, curriculum and leadership at UMass Lowell's Graduate School of Education. He has previously served as Executive Director of Massachusetts Educational Television and on the faculty at York University in Toronto. He has taught in the U.S. and abroad at levels ranging from middle school through advanced graduate studies. Recently, LeBaron produced Technology in its Place: Successful Technology Infusion in Schools (Jossey-Bass, 2001).

The Fulbright Senior Specialists Program offers grants to leading U.S. academics to support curricular and faculty development at academic institutions in 140 countries.
